Please be advised that the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is declaring a Significant Weather Event in accordance with O Reg 239/2 Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.
All roads owned and maintained by the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh may receive reduced service due to inclement weather. Winter maintenance shall be performed as it is safe to do so.
Due to road conditions Waste Management has canceled waste and recycling scheduled for Area 2 and abutting lakeshore for today Monday, December 26, 2022. The next collection for this area is scheduled for Monday, January 9, 2023.
Household garbage will be accepted at the Ashfield Landfill located at 36739 Glens Hill Road Dungannon, ON N0M 1R0 on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
Due to inclement weather the Ashfield Landfill located at 36739 Glens Hill Road will be closed on Saturday, December 24, 2022.

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is accepting applications for the above positions to fill within the Public Works Department. Reporting directly to the Public Works Superintendent, the position will provide a variety of snow and ice removal maintenance, construction, and repair service to roads equipment and Township property.
The Environmental Assessment Process (EA) for the expansion of the Century Heights Water System is moving forward. The well has been drilled, pump tests have occurred, and the Source Water Protection committee is reviewing the findings.
The Open House style meeting will have some display boards, that are prepared by our Engineers, B.M. Ross & Associates, and a presentation with time for questions and comments after.

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh invites applications for the position of member of the Economic Development Committee (EDC).
Members of the EDC have the opportunity to share their knowledge, networks, experience and unique perspective to animate the Township’s vision of ACW as a diverse, thriving and sustainable economy and rural community.
Pursuant to the Development Charges Act 1997, the Council of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has passed a Development Charges By-law. By-law No. 68-2022 passed on Tuesday September 20, 2022, sets out a range of charges to be collected from new residential and non-residential development.
Sealed quotations, clearly marked as to contents will be received until Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. for the rental of municipally owned farmland at various locations for the 2023 to 2026 planting seasons. Full details can be found on the Tenders & RFP page or contact the Township Office.
In this 3 certificate program, participants will obtain WHMIS and Workplace Safety Certificates through online self-study and their Safe Food Handling in person in Dungannon to become food
safety specialists. This Safe Food Handling Certification course covers principles of sanitary food service and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedures. The Safe Food Handling Certificate is good for 5 Years and include a day of instruction and a one hour exam reserved for the end of the day. Participants are required to achieve a mark of 70% or above to pass the exam and
become certified. Participants must show photo identification before writing the Safe Food Handling exam. Access to the WHMIS and Workplace Safety course will be provided beforehand.
In this 2 Day Red Cross Training program, participants will receive their Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certifications in a live-hands-on class. These skills are essential for those looking to become babysitters as well as for employees, first responders, instructors and training partners. Each course is delivered in easy-to-follow steps with practical hands-on components and a variety of training materials.
