Ontario’s annual Day of Action on Litter encourages individuals, students, municipalities and businesses across the province to work together to raise awareness about the impacts of litter and waste and take part in a litter cleanup.

With the recent rainfall received over the weekend, the Huron County Fire Chiefs have lifted the Open-Air Fire Ban. Please contact your local Fire Department for current rules and regulations regarding Open Air Burns.
Effective immediately, the Huron County Fire Chiefs have Declared an open air fire ban in Huron County. There will be no open-air burning permitted in Huron County until further notice.
The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh invites artists to respond to an open call to participate in the Dungannon Mural Project. This project will see the creation of a public art mural in the community of Dungannon between July and September, 2023.
Based on the current precipitation forecast and watershed conditions, major flooding is not expected. Watercourses will respond quickly due to saturated soils and river levels that are already elevated from last week’s rain and snowmelt. Water levels are again likely to reach or exceed bankfull conditions resulting in ponding and minor flooding in typical low-lying areas.
Technical issues including device failure or malfunction occurred for the Council Meeting on March 20, 2023.

An Open House has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. (with remarks to begin at 6:30 p.m.) to review the draft recommendations for the Parks and Recreation Strategic plan that has been prepared over the last 6-months.

Burnside & Associates Limited was retained by the Townships of Howick, North Huron and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh to assess current landfill practices and to develop a recycling plan to accommodate the transition of recycling (Blue Box) from municipal collection and processing to Producer Responsibility. The transition is to proceed in accordance with the ‘Blue Box Regulation’ (O.Reg. 391/21) under the ‘Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016’.
