By-law 30-2022 being the Animal Control By-law regulates animal care and control within the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

Dog Identification

The Township no longer licenses dogs. Identification by means of microchip or other tag is required to make sure your pet makes it home if it gets lost. 

Kennel License

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh regulates Dog Kennels through the Animal Control By-Law.

Livestock Claims

The Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program provides financial assistance to farmers whose livestock, poultry and honeybees have been damaged by wildlife.

Wildlife

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh does not provide a service to deal with wildlife on private property. Wildlife issues on private property are the responsibility of the landowner. Owners can call pest control or wildlife control companies to remove wildlife at their own expense.
