Today Staff recognized Landfill Attendant Eric Millers retirement. Eric joined our team in 2010 and has served many of our residents during his time at the Ashfield Landfill. We thank Eric for his dedicated service and hardwork with the Township. Happy Retirement Eric!

With the recent rainfall received over the past few days, the Open-Air Fire Ban has been lifted for the entire Township.
Effective today, June 9, 2023, the lawn watering and car washing ban for all users of the Lakeshore Municipal Drinking Water System has been being lifted. Maintenance of the Lakeshore water system has been completed and the reservoir restored. Thank you for your cooperation in conserving water at this critical time.

Huron Perth, ON – Earlier this week, Environment Canada and the Province of Ontario issued a Special Air Quality Statement for many regions in Ontario, including Huron Perth. Smoke plumes from forest fires in Quebec and northeastern Ontario have resulted in deteriorated air quality. Poor air quality may persist into the weekend.
June 1, 2023: Effective at 11:59pm the Huron County Fire Chiefs have declared an open-air fire ban in Huron County. There will be no open-air burning permitted in Huron County until further notice.
This fire ban is being imposed due to the extreme dryness of all vegetation in the area and shall remain in effect until further notice.

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh invites artists to respond to an open call to participate in the Dungannon Mural Project. This project will see the creation of a public art mural in the community of Dungannon between July and September, 2023.
Based on the current precipitation forecast and watershed conditions, major flooding is not expected. Watercourses will respond quickly due to saturated soils and river levels that are already elevated from last week’s rain and snowmelt. Water levels are again likely to reach or exceed bankfull conditions resulting in ponding and minor flooding in typical low-lying areas.
Technical issues including device failure or malfunction occurred for the Council Meeting on March 20, 2023.
