Lawn Watering & Car Washing Ban Lifted

Properties Affected: Users of the Lakeshore Municipal Drinking Water System\

Date Effective: Thursday June 9, 2023

This is to notify you that effective today, June 9, 2023, the lawn watering and car washing ban for all users of the Lakeshore Municipal Drinking Water System has been being lifted. Maintenance of the Lakeshore water system has been completed and the reservoir restored. Thank you for your cooperation in conserving water at this critical time.

You may return to normal usage of water. However, please remember that by-law 2010-46 remains in effect from June 1st – September 15th. This by-law allows lawns to be watered according to the following schedule:

• Even numbered properties may water on even numbered days and odd numbered properties may water on odd numbered days
• Watering hours are restricted to between 6:00 am and 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm, except for properties with automatic sprinkler systems
• Properties with automatic sprinkler systems are restricted to watering between 4:00 am and 7:00am.
• This by-law does not apply to newly planted lawns for a period of 30 days from installation.

The same area affected spans from the Ashfield-Huron Townline in the south to Saratoga Road in the north, and the Lake Huron shoreline in the west to Lake Range Dr in the east. This also includes users on the Ashfield-Huron Townline to Amberley and users in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh on Amberley Beach Rd. Please refer to the map below.
