The Dungannon Park is located at the heart of the community of Dungannon located at the corner of Lucknow Line and Joseph St. This park is thanks to the hard work of Dungannon Community Alliance. 

Dungannon Community Alliance (DCA)

The Dungannon Community Alliance (DCA) is a collaboration of five service groups in the Dungannon area with the support of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh (ACW). The service groups include the Dungannon Seniors Club, Dungannon YOUth Group, Dungannon Agricultural Society, Dungannon Lions Club and the Dungannon United Church. This group is working towards the development of shared resources to have a barrier free, accessible place for all people to connect to address the issue of rural isolation.

Dungannon Green Space Creation

The project aims to transform what was a vacant lot into a community green space in the heart of Dungannon. 

• Phase 1: Improvements completed included site excavation and restoration work to level ground and bury water lines, the addition of topsoil and grass seed, and walkway creation. 

• Phase 2: The work this is planned to be completed in 2021 and early 2022, includes electrical services, planting trees, a cenotaph, pavilion/gazebo, drinking water fill station, park benches, and a gaga pit.

Funding for this multi-stage project will come from many different sources including; 

• West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance for Gazebo/Pavillion project.

• Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh for Phase 1 of the project.

• Grant funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program for Phase 2. 

• Community War Memorial Grant, Veterans Affairs Canada for the Cenotaph.

• Dungannon Lions Club donation towards the Cenotaph.

• Dungannon YOUth Group for the gaga pit. 

• Huron County/ Healthy Kids Community Challenge

• Additional donations from other local businesses and individuals
