Created on

The Canadian Armed Forces are coming to the area for a training exercise May 3 - 5. Headquartered in Blyth, the will be using the local community centre, campground and ball diamonds, along with the Wescast Community Complex in Wingham. Equipment will begin arriving in late April and the exercise will involve other Huron and Bruce County communities as well.

This is being done to create a more challenging, realistic training exercise, and will see soldiers conducting fire training, wellness checks, simulated search and rescue operations, cooling center establishment, as well as other related activities.

All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those in the area. Members of the public are asked to take extra caution if approaching military vehicles and troops and are thanked in advance for their understanding and co-operation.
