The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is very fortunate that the Dungannon Drinking Water System Arsenic Treatment, Reservoir and Pump Station project was chosen as a recipient for funding through the Green Infrastructure stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).
Joint federal, provincial and recipient funding through the ICIP will go towards providing clean, safe drinking water to more than 300 people in the Dungannon area for years to come, helping to build a sustainable and resilient community.
The project involves the addition of four new arsenic filters, two new interconnected reservoir tanks for treated water, a new septic system for arsenic treatment backwash water disposal, and new piping. This will reduce arsenic concentrations and add storage to the system.
